Wilderness Medical Training

For over 10 years Martin Hanzalek has been instructing Wilderness First Aid Programs for SIRIUS Wilderness Medicine, Canada's largest provider of wilderness medical training. As one of the main wilderness medical instructors in Newfoundland and Labrador, most of Martin's courses elaborate on special circumstances found in Newfoundland and Labrador such as polar bear safety, cold water immersion, and hypothermia. All programs are certification courses through SIRIUS Wilderness Medicine or the Heart and Stroke Foundation and successful candidates receive appropriate accreditation for both institutions. In addition to the programs outlined below, Martin Hanzalek can customize programs to suit special interest groups. 1. It's fantastic to see wilderness first aid courses still offered by Hanzalek here in Newfoundland and Labrador. We took a first aid course from Martin and My Newfoundland Adventures in Western Newfoundland in 2005 and thought it was the most valuable piece of outdoor education we were ever exposed to. Great Course!

  2. The Wilderness First Aid Course I took through Sirius Wilderness Medicine was absolutely amazing. In a year of University it stands out as my favorite and most valuable course this year. Our instructor was Martin Hanzalek and he was patient, professional, and extremely entertaining. I am happy to recommend both Sirius Wilderness Medicine as an organization as well as Marty Hanzalek as an instructor.
